Now that we're leaving the old design behind, I'll post a history I typed up a while back to see what the place was like in the good 'ol day.

Inspirations

Chao Talk

Chao Talk is the original inspiration for TCS. Back when I joined up, they had 600-700 members. *It was actually a year ago, come to think of it now* It was a bustling place. Many other Chao fans posting around, a fun place to be. I wanted something like that. I knew I'd probably crash and burn, *I had seen many failed sites at the time, and I was new to the internet* but I still wanted to try.

Everyone: OMFG WHUTT? D=

Yep. Despite how everyone seems to hate it, CC had a part in this site as well. I was a board mod at CT, and saw a thread where CC had been doing something. I didn't join back then, but went to their forum. They are VERY active. The current forum has been around for a few months, and to date, they already have about 80, 000 total posts. The inspiration was, though, the freedom of speech. I didn't want swearing/cussing at my own forum, but I liked that. Not to mention, they were lenient on the rules. At CT, things are strict. *Or, at least, they were* I wanted a forum where it wasn't "OMFG DOUBLE POST GET HIM GET HIM GET HIM", but to just say something like "omg d00d u duble postd plz don't kthnx".

Mia

She joined up here as our...11th member? I think so. She made quite a few of our old skins (the one remaining now is the TCS Main Site skin), and could be a bit of a controversial member, in some member's eyes. She proposed a rule that would enforce proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling of words, otherwise punishments would be given. She went on to be my closest friend, for a personal aspect.

Everyone Else

From Hi! Hi! to ivythebox, a steady member count helps for inspiration. As Admin of the forum, when I see a new member, my heart skips a beat, and I feel like putting even more of my all into this site. It's very inspiring to me to see "148 Members" (at the time of my writing this) Down there. Not to mention our active ones are awesome! Sure, we've had a trouble maker or two, but every other active member we've ever had here is just amazingly nice. Chaoguy, Squirty, Master Chief, Hi! Hi!, *said Mia already*, DM, Gamedezyner, all of you all. Seeing others who care for this forum so much really keeps ya going, y'know? :P

The Site History

The original TCS

The Original TCS. ugh. Hi! Hi! could definitely agree with me on this, it looked AWFUL. I had Green Hill Zone set as the background, a purple skin forum color, and green *I think this may have been what Chaoguy was talking about* title bars and all. I put it on ProBoards Support GOAYB (Get Opinions About Your Board), I was given a 4/10. I feel that was being generous xD I don't remember much about it...it had quite a few of the boards you may see today. Welcoming, Departures, General, All the Chao Boards we have now, (excluding Chao Hacking I believe), Television, Computers, and Video Gaming. Suggestions/Complaints as well. Our URL was something like http://neometalsonic.proboards104.com We had a Music Player that lagged us BADLY, even without any songs. After a while I went into a coding frenzy, and the site just went bonkers. I gave up and deleted the site. This was....near November 27th? I started it about a week or two before that.

The current TCS

So about a month later, I got ambitions to make TCS again. This time I was cautious of the codes I put in. I built this forum from the above original inspirations as well. Chao, Leniency, and a good place to express opinions. Hi! Hi! told me to PM him when the site was done, so he was our official second member. After that, I believe Clair joined, and Mia Violet joined after that. *I think she was our 4th member, anyways >_<* She offered to help whip up a skin for us, and we did. I personally liked that skin, but it she said it was awful, and wanted another shot. The "TCS Spring" skin is that skin. In the process of doing this...well..y'know, we started talking on AIM, and you know what all happened after that :P

So I advertised at ProBoards Support, and kept a daily thread going at CT. We gained a few members within the next month or two. Our first official trouble maker was Tyson. (Superpurity) He broke the rules so we'd give him bad karma. Our member's wanted him banned, but remember, leniency :P. I told him that if he just wanted bad Karma, he could've asked, and after that he became a very good dedicated member. Unfortunately he hasn't been around as of late.... Some of the other active current members from that time are Chaoguy, Nero, Gyronexus, Rusty, and shockwave (Brikk1).

After that, Nexus and Mia seemed to build a bad friendship. Pretty much despised eachother, you could say. Mia and I did some mean things to him I regret by messing around with his profile. He got pretty ticked off, deleted his account, and left. Taught me a lesson that it's best not to mess around with things like that unless it's light/once-in-a-while/know them well. This part of time seems to be a blank to me, all the way up until June. Something to note may be that Chaoguy deleted his account and left without a trace.

During the above time another big player in TCS joined. Nero joined up, with an obsession of having the last post. I think Nero's constant posting made the site look like it was very active, influencing people to join. Many people viewed his posts, and him as annoying, but I think this really helped us out. Nero and I have had a row or two, but he's still a very good member, and a very good friend, despite the fact he can be just a tiny bit annoying sometimes. But so can I, so it evens out :P

We had a lack of everything near this time. I really considered deleting this forum. But I kept on going.

Despite the member growth from that time, I think something that hindered us may have been the inactive Chao boards. There were very little posts there up until this time. We gained a steady member growth regardless though, and eventually hit 50 members, thanks to SmallSmartKitty. After this, we seemed to start to surge member-wise.

*This part is a blank. If anyone can help me out, I'd really appreciate it*

So, near.....shoot. I forgot. 70, 80, 90 members? Nexus rejoined, as well as Chaoguy. Squirty *Also known as burnedchao, and Double Whammy* joined, and then, things started getting active. Member's seemed to be joining everyday, lots of posts, it was great.

So then, the infamous "Grammer/spelling" rule was conjured up by Mia and myself. Only 3 people I know of were open to it. Myself, Mia, and Nexus. Everyone else either hated it, opposed it, or left because of it. *Maybe even all three for some :P*. People seemed to start to live with it.

After a bit, Chaoguy made us the "Angel Island" skin. I also made the "TCS Vista skin"....I can't remember much from here.

We also had someone who seemed to have multiple personalities. marmum. Marmum had a total of 5 or 6 family members join up here. Normally, this would be a good thing right? Well....they were all on different IP's. I find it odd how one house can have 5 different computers. Not to mention they all typed exactly alike. If all of them had been kids or something, I would've understood. but...they all typed like,..."hey i am marmum i am new to the chao stop i found this place from chao talk my name is not marmum really it is josh". or, "hey i am deshaseo and that is not my real name anyways hi". Not to mention Marmum constantly said "deshaseo said he was sorry also that is not his real name just so you know", and deshaseo's personal text was "send all of marmums messages to me ill make sure he gets them". It was slowly ticking me off, but I wasn't sure whether they were 1 person, or really 5 individuals. Then the account "april" came, and took out 100th member spot. This part did the trick, and I banned them all.

....geez I can't think...ummm...Well, we hit 100 members finally, and we were still bustling. *This actually wasn't too long ago, for newer members* In fact, it was only a month ago. I had more features planned for TCS. Topic descriptions *Explaining the things like "New features|hay gauise dis is n00" in titles*, UBBC in Quick Reply, *The buttons that put automatic Bold Italic tags in post*, and custom post preferences. The only thing that stayed was UBBC in Personal Text. *Which only I seem to use.* Unfortunately, it messed up the forum, so I had to get rid of most of it.

As of late, we have a few things in the works for TCS. This will be my first revealing to normal members, but we are planning on a website. *You all know this part, read on down, and you'll find out in a bit* This will be something like Chao Island. Heck, CI was the main inspiration for it. We are still gaining members like crazy, and we are active as ever. I also welcomed some new members to the staff. ChaoguyDX, Deathmage, and Gamedezyner. I regret none of the promotions I made. I feel you all make a good staff, and are a good choice for helping us with our future.

At the time of my typing this, we have 148 members, 943 Total Topics, 14, 837 total posts, and 24 users online at once.

Ahh, good times. I'll be putting up the rest sometime soon.
